I made a vow at the beginning of 2008 that I would return to serious contesting! It had been a long time and I missed it. I did the CQ 160m CW and CQ WPX RTTY from my cabin QTH for personal reasons, but I marked my return to the big time with the ARRL DX CW contest. While it was not quite the killer score I made in the past (and certainly not in the Top Ten) , I was back with high power and a concerted effort. It felt great despite the worst high band conditions I had ever seen to this point. Nobody thought conditions could be worse than the CW contest, but two weeks later, the SSB contest proved us wrong! I think it's clear that this is the absolute pits of the sunspot cycle. It can only go up from here!
